Emily has always been interested in the environment and sustainability issues. She is drawn to the unique intersection of humanities, economics, politics and science needed to protect and restore our environment and balance management and use.
As part of our environment and policy team, Emily provides input to projects across natural resource management, climate change and environmental planning areas. Emily can quickly synthesize information from a range of sources to determine relevance, crystalise challenges and devise and prioritise options for action. These skills are supported by her abilities in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and data management.
Emily is excelling in her studies in Science (Environmental Management) at Flinders University. She has achieved straight high distinctions for all her subjects. As the top first-year student in geography, she was awarded the John Lewis prize for Geography.
Emily’s passion for the environment extends to her hobbies – hiking and rock climbing. Emily also excels at robotics where communication, team work and strategic thinking are paramount. Winner of numerous international awards, she continues to mentor a young robotics team.
It is the combination of her passion for environmental sustainability and her STEM skills that make Emily such a compelling professional.
